About

Hello! My Name is Tegan!

I’m a fashion graduate with a Diploma of Fashion Design and Merchandising from Kangan Institute of TAFE. I’m passionate about the hands-on elements of fashion, I thrive when I’m immersed in the making process, whether that’s drafting patterns, machining garments, or developing digital design work.

Pattern making is where I feel most creatively and intellectually engaged; I love the challenge of visualising complex shapes in three dimensions and translating them into precise, functional designs. There’s something deeply satisfying about solving those technical puzzles and watching an idea take shape. Machining offers a different kind of reward, a sense of calm, control, and satisfaction in seeing a garment come to life through careful construction.

Experience & Goals

During my time at Kangan, I actively sought opportunities to broaden my skills and industry experience. My work was featured in the 2023 Kangan student runway, and I played a key role in organising the Fashion Algorithm Forum (a panel event focused on the relationship between fashion and social media).  In 2022, I also helped style a lunchtime runway for Vault Vintage at the Block Arcade in collaboration with the National Trust Victoria. I’m highly proficient in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and the Microsoft Office Suite, and I’m eager to build my skills in digital pattern-making software to support my technical growth.

I’m currently seeking opportunities in junior or assistant design roles as I work toward specialising in pattern making or machining. My long-term goal is to one day establish my own label, creating high-end women’s sleepwear or lingerie. I believe deeply in fashion’s ability to empower, that a well-crafted garment, made with care and intention, can help someone feel confident, comfortable, and truly themselves.
